persistence patience

a lot of times, when i read the bible, i think that prophets prayed and God immediately answered their prayers. and maybe that was the case sometimes, but jeremiah 42:7 says:

at the end of ten days the word of the Lord came to jeremiah.

he prayed for ten days before he ever heard an answer from God. the immediacy that i expect God to answer my prayers with didn’t even take place in the life of jeremiah. i need to learn to pray persistently and with patience. fact: God is good. He hears. He listens. He answers.
